Jazzcats Crossing the Hudson

27 August 2010 One Comment

In a find nothing short of miraculous, the classic 1851 oil painting by German-American artist Emanuel Gottlieb Leutze pre-emptively predicted the arrival of a collection of timeline-displaced influential Jazz musicians. It smells like the workings of  a jazz-nerd version of Bill S. Preston Esq & Ted Theodore Logan.

Any way you look at this, it’s fucking awesome. I am on the hunt for a place to get a high quality print run off. Worst case scenario, buy the album (link below), scan the art and hook it up.

This is an excellent example of how kick-ass artwork alone can still drive sales of cds in the digital age.

Purchase album here: Medicine Show No. 8: Advanced Jazz
