Ghost Stations and Subway Tunnel Parties

28 December 2010 No Comment

Urban exploration has taken the place of graffiti writing for my undying, highly enviable, risk-taking adventure pursuance as I have grown older. I have a very strong grasp of the subculture and underworld of graffiti writing but urban exploration calls like a seductive whisper. There has been quite a boom in the art-form and many adventure seekers are pioneering the modern ruins of our global culture.

Check out the good people at SleepyCity.net. Similar to the adventures of Indiana Jones, the quest is almost pointless without quality documentation. The photographs that these guys have gathered from their explorations of the Paris subway tunnel and station network are nothing short of gorgeous. If you are lucky enough to still be enjoying your winter break and you find yourself with some extra reading time, make sure you slot in these adventures documented and titled as “The Demolition of the Paris Metro“. Between the “tunnel running”, the impromptu parties in the abandoned stations and the well-documented endangerment these guys will melt the ice off your driveway. Check it out.
